Privacy Policy

01What we collect

• Account: your email address. If you set a password, we keep only a one-way hash of it.
• Library: the words and phrases you save, their sentences and meanings, the page they came from, and your reviews.
• Invitations: whose invite code your account was created with, and the name you sign your invitations with, which anyone who opens one sees.
• Usage: how many tokens and pronunciation characters you use each week, to count your usage. The text being translated or read aloud is not recorded.
• Payments: once paid subscriptions open, payment details are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record, or by the App Store. We only receive the status of your subscription and never see your card number.
• Device and usage: browser and device type, IP address, and how you use the website, the web app and the browser extension, such as pages visited, clicks and errors, plus session recordings in the web app (what you type into fields is masked). Once you sign in, usage is linked to your account.

We don’t track you for ads, and we don’t sell your information.

02How we use it

Only to provide and improve WordLinea: to sign you in, sync your library, translate and pronounce, schedule reviews, send emails, prevent abuse, understand how features are used, and answer your requests for help.

03Who processes it

We share only what a task needs with service providers that process data on our behalf, for hosting, database, email, pronunciation, translation, payments and analytics, and only on our instructions; translation and pronunciation services receive only the text they work on. All of these services are outside China. By using WordLinea, you agree that your personal information is stored and processed outside China. When you switch the browser extension to your own translation service, its requests go straight from your browser to that service and don’t pass through us.

04How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the account, library, sign-in state and extension connections are deleted immediately; codes expire after 10 minutes. Pronunciation audio shared by everyone contains no personal information and is kept.

05Your rights

• See or archive your content in your library at any time.
• Change your password or delete your account under Settings → Account; deleting your account also withdraws your consent.
• For anything else, write to support@wordlinea.com. We reply within 15 business days.

06Children

Users under 14 should use WordLinea only with a parent or guardian’s consent and supervision.

07Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we update the date on this page. We’ll tell you about important changes by email or on the website.
