Terms of Service

Updated October 6, 2026

By signing up for or using WordLinea, you agree to these terms.

01What WordLinea is

WordLinea saves the words and phrases you meet while reading, together with their sentences, into your own library, and brings them back for spaced review. It is still early, and features may change.

02Your account

  • An account is identified by its email address. One email has one account and one library.
  • Keep your email and password safe. Anything done with a code sent to your email or with your password counts as done by you.
  • Your account is for you alone. Don’t transfer it or lend it to anyone.

03Your content

The words, sentences and review history you save belong to you. We use them only to sync and schedule your reviews, and for nothing else.

04Acceptable use

Don’t sign up in bulk, hammer the service with scripts, disrupt it, or use WordLinea for unlawful content. If you do, we may suspend or delete the accounts involved.

05Third-party services

Pronunciation, translation, article context and code emails are provided by third-party services; see the Privacy Policy. When you switch the browser extension to your own translation service, its requests go straight from your browser to that service, under its own terms.

06Usage and subscriptions

  • Every feature is open to every account. Lookups, translation and pronunciation from WordLinea’s translation service are subject to usage limits. How much usage each tier includes and how often it starts over may change; the Usage page in the web app’s settings shows where you stand.
  • Once usage is used up, passages, pages and text switch to machine translation and article context pauses. Looking up words carries on.
  • Once paid subscriptions open, they renew automatically every month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep the subscription until the end of the period. A trial needs a payment method, and turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
  • Orders on the web or in the browser extension are processed by our online reseller Paddle.com, the merchant of record for these orders, which is the seller of the transaction and whose terms apply to the payment. Payments in the iPhone, iPad and Mac app are handled by the App Store.

07Refunds

Within 14 days of your first subscription on the web or in the browser extension, you can write to us for a full refund. Purchases through the App Store follow Apple’s refund rules.

08Changes to the service

The service may be interrupted or changed; we’ll try to let you know in advance. WordLinea is provided as is, without a promise that it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses that result.

09Leaving

You can delete your account at any time under Settings → Account. Your account and library are deleted together and can’t be recovered.

10Changes to these terms

When these terms change, we update the date on this page. We’ll tell you about important changes by email or on the website.
